3dx 7.2 crashes on start

I installed 3dx 7.2 and it crashes. Saw on the forums that C++ redist was the issue. So, I removed it and reinstalled iclone 7 and 3dx 7 latest version. 3dx still crashes. I have attached the log file.

OS: Windows 10

Running in DX11 mode fixed it for us.  I was even able to run the main software (not the one in the bin folder) after running it.

Dear all,

To solve the crash on launch issue of 3DXchange 7, we have build a special test version of 3DXchange 7 to use DirectX 11 mode, we need to confirm that whether this approach of solution is feasible on your computer?

Please download the zip file with the link below, extract it on your Desktop. There is a readme in the zip file, simply described how to switch between DX9 and DX11 mode. Please try the DX11 mode and let us know whether this version of 3DX7 is launch-able?

Please note that this version of 3DX7 is an unstable version, it is still under testing, DO NOT overwrite the original 3DX7 installed in your computer, and DO NOT use it in your daily work. It contains bugs, for example, currently it will fail loading fbx file. Also please ignore the "Load msx Error" message while launching 3DX7 for DX11.

I'm having the same issue. I see the splash screen for pipeline, then the 3dxchange window opens for a split second and just disappears.  I'm on Win10 Pro with a GTX 1070 latest drivers.

Anyone have any new solutions?

I've tried reinstalling 3dxchange and c++ 2013 and all the dpi scaling stuff.

Dear all,

One of our user shared a method from Microsoft Support that solved the 3DX7 crash on start issue for him on 2018/6/29:

You might want to try it, and please let us know does it work for you?

Please note that it's the monitor driver not the display driver that you need to switch to "Generic PnP Monitor driver".
