After rigging all the color vertex information seems to be lost

I really like your animation quality and it's hard to get a good result like That .

There could be a preset for toony finger rigs with less than 3 finger bones as the one in the pic. You can see that the tip bones will end either out of too close to the middle segment bone, which is kinda bad as deleting bones in other programs could break stuff later.
AccuRig is much preferred...More

If you have a character that the auto bone detect does not work properly, fixing the position of the bones is next to impossible.
