Issue 6197
iClone 7 and Character Creator crashes on splash screen startup
I recently updated Windows 10 to approved version 1809.

It was working fine until Microsoft recommended these updates:

1. Security Intelligence Updates for Windows Defender Antivirus: KB2267602 (Version: 1.299.2841.0)
2. Update for Windows Defender Antivirus antimalware platform - KB4052623 (Version 4.18.1908.5)
3. 2019-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version1903 for x64-based Systems (KB4512508)

Upon doing so I tried to start iClone v7.41 and Character Creator v3.04 but both crashed on splash screen startup.

I tried to install the update for iClone v7.41 to iClone v7.5.3119.1. This to did not install.

But the iClone 3DXChange 7 Pipeline works fine.

I have run the RL System Collector and have attached the RL_FBT_UserSystemInfo_Windows.zip file for review to determine why any update to Windows 10 prevents iClone programs to crash, or refuse to update.

I kindly request you resolve this issue which I tried to avoid but have no other choice as Windows 10 needed the recommended upgrade from 1805 to 1809 as stipulated by Microsoft.

Regards...
Don

Hi, dongraphifx,

Nvidia has released the 440.97 Game Ready driver On 2019.10.22, which have fixed the issue that will cause iClone 7 and CC 3 to crash while launching. However, the Studio driver have not update yet. For users who use Studio driver, might want to switch to the 440.97 Game Ready driver, or wait until the next Studio driver release.

Since this fix was made in the driver level, no iClone or CC updates are needed. Thank you for your patience to wait for such a long time.

Regards,
Donnie

I have tried the following options from Forum Reallusion:

OPTION 1
1) I Open the "C:\Users\Public" folder.
2) In "All Users" folder, I right-click on the "Public Documents" folder and Select "Properties".
3) In the "General" tab, I cleared the checkbox marked as "Read-only".
4) Clicked "Apply" and "OK" on the pop-up box.
5) Then, went to "Security" tab
6) I verified that "Deny" is not checked for anything by clicking "Edit" to Update it.
7) I verify that "Allow" is checked for "Full Control" by clicking "Edit" to Update it.
8) I then clicked on "Apply", then click on "OK"
9) Double clicked the iClone 7.6 Patch - ENU Installer
NOTHING HAPPENED.

OPTION 2
1) I type %Temp% in the Search box and click the found Temp folder to C:\Users\<YOUR PROFILE NAME>\AppData\Local\Temp.
2) I highlighted and deleted all the folders and files in the Temp folder. Some remained as normal
3) I went to C:\Windows\Temp. Highlight and delete all the folders and files there.
4) Restarted my computer and try to install again by double clicking the iClone 7.6 Patch - ENU Installer
NOTHING HAPPENED

OPTION 3
1) I went to "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Network and Internet" > "Internet Options" > "Connections" tab.
2) I clicked on the "LAN Settings" button to see if I am using a Proxy Server. It was not checked.
3) I temporarily disabled any security program - such as Windows Defender Firewall, and uninstall iOrbit Malware Fighter that may interfere with the installation process.
4) Restarted my computer and try to install again by double clicking the iClone 7.6 Patch - ENU Installer
NOTHING HAPPENED

I have absolutely no idea what to do again.

Please, I beg of you to help me to install this program.

I have run the RL System Collector and have attached the "AUGUST 30TH RL_FBT_UserSystemInfo_Windows" file for review to determine why iClone 7.6 Patch - ENU will not install.

Hello Molly:

Thank you for the quick response.

I tried as suggested in turning off the firewall as per suggested link:

https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-or-disable-windows-defender-firewall-in-windows-10#targetText=You%20will%20see%20the%20changed,Turn%20on%20button%20for%20Firewall.&;targetText=Open%20Control%20Panel%20%3E%20Windows%20Defender,to%20open%20the%20following%20panel

But no success.

I also have Anti-Virus software off as well.

So these tries did not work. I have had trouble like this before and was forced to a total reinstall of Windows 10, losing all my apps only to reinstall again. Too much to hustle this over and over again.

There is something that just prevents updates of your iClone software to work or new software CA4 to install too. whenever there is a windows update.

My fear now is that because Windows 10 is progressive, in keeping updates running giving you a 7-day window to pause, will eventually require me to do so, thus "kicking the can" further down to the point where I cannot install content, update apps and new software from your online store.

Could you investigate why this keeps happening?

I have run the RL System Collector and have attached the "NEW AUGUST 29TH-RL_FBT_UserSystemInfo_Windows" file for review
