My name is Rod Jenkins. My wife Barbara and I run Coney Jenkins Legacy Comix, an independent comics studio based in Chicago that's been telling original stories since 1994.

Eighteen months ago, I had never opened Blender. I had never touched iClone. I didn't know what a rig was, what a morph was, or how any of this software actually worked.

On June 23rd, we premiered Crossroads: The Devlin Gambit — a 12-minute animated short film, built start to finish using Character Creator, iClone, and AccuRIG. I learned the entire pipeline from scratch, on my own time, around a full-time job, to bring a story I'd been carrying for years to the screen.

I'm not reaching out looking for anything specific; I just think it's worth knowing what's possible with your software in the hands of someone who refused to stop learning.

Independent creators without animation studios or budgets behind them are doing real work with these tools, and I wanted you to see one example of this directly:
