Issue 12482
Unreal live link failing to receive data
Hi i am have a fairly big problem for my workflow with unreal live link.

In the example in the images you will see that the Aaron model is linking and is fine.
How ever the Ariana model is not linking. In fact if i link her the link to Aaron breaks.

Now i have found this to be the case with my own custom models. Quite often it is the female models that break live link and the males work. i don’t know how or why. Names are correct on both sides, Iclone 8 and UE5.

Strange thing is it has all been working fine until 3 days ago or so. There was an update to iclone and all in one.

If i could get s solution to this it would be much appreciated. It has really messed my work up and i am now stuck in limbo till this is resolved.

In the images i have labeled them all 1a and 1 b and so on so you can see the effect activating each models live link is having.

I am using Ue5 6.1 but 7 is the same.

With testing i have discovered that sometime cc3+ characters work upgraded

unfortunately, that's not an option for me any more. Any updates on the progress for the fix or when it can be expected? sucks to be sitting here so stalled.

Hi zancoisrice,

To ensure we can investigate and track your specific issue effectively, could you please submit a new Feedback Tracker ticket for this "missing texture" problem?

Since this current thread is dedicated to a different connection failure case (Issue 12482), mixing different technical issues in one thread makes it difficult for our developers to track the status of each bug.

In your new ticket, please provide the following details:

  1. The Files: The specific Project file or Asset (Character/Prop) that is missing textures.

  2. Issue Description: A brief description of your steps (e.g., does it happen immediately after link, or after transfer?).

  3. Software Versions: The exact version numbers of iClone, the Unreal Live Link plugin, and the Auto Setup plugin you are currently using.

Once you create the new ticket, our team will be able to assign it to the relevant engineer immediately.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Best regards,
Kayla

Hi russell2216,

First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for the disruption this issue has caused to your workflow. We understand how frustrating it is to encounter blocking issues in a production environment.

While our development team is working on a permanent fix, we have verified that downgrading iClone back to v8.65 resolves the issue immediately.

If you have previously installed v8.65 via the Reallusion Hub, the installer likely still exists in your local cache. Please follow these steps to perform the rollback:

Step 1: Uninstall Current Versions
Please completely uninstall your current iClone 8.7 and the Unreal Live Link plugin from your system.

Step 2: Locate the Previous Installer
Navigate to the following folder on your computer:

C:\Users\[Your_User_Name]\AppData\Local\Reallusion\RLDownloads

(Tip: You can type %localappdata%\Reallusion\RLDownloads in your file explorer address bar)

Look for the installer file named IC865_Enu.exe (approx. 2.7GB).

Step 3: Reinstall v8.65
Run the executable to install iClone 8.65.

Step 4: Reinstall Live Link Plugin
Once iClone 8.65 is installed, open the Reallusion Hub. It should prompt you to install the Live Link plugin (v1.37). If it shows "Repair," please select that option.

Important Note:
Downgrading may reset some custom hotkeys or preferences, but your individual assets should remain intact.

Again, we are sorry for the inconvenience. Please let us know if this workaround helps you get back to production.

Best regards,
Kayla
