GoZ: Unable to Update Mesh from ZBrush Back to CC5 (Only "Create Cloth/Accessory" appears)
Issue Summary: When sending a character from Character Creator 5 to ZBrush via GoZ, I sculpted the face using layers (Move, ClayBuildUp, etc., without using Dynamesh or Sculptris Pro). However, when trying to send the mesh back from ZBrush to CC5, the “Update Mesh” option does not appear. Instead, CC5 only shows “Create Cloth” or “Create Accessory,” which means CC5 treats the mesh as a completely new object instead of an updated character mesh.
Steps to Reproduce:
Send a CC5 character to ZBrush via GoZ.
Create a sculpting layer and adjust the face using Move, ClayBuildUp, etc.
Do NOT use Dynamesh, Sculptris Pro, ZRemesher, or any topology-changing function.
Send the modified model back to CC5 via GoZ.
Actual Result: CC5 only displays “Create Cloth” or “Create Accessory.” “Update Mesh” (or “Update Character”) does not appear, making it impossible to update the original CC5 character mesh.
Expected Result: CC5 should detect the original CC character mesh and provide the option to update the existing mesh (e.g., “Update Mesh”), allowing the sculpted head to be applied correctly.
Additional Notes:
GoZ cache was cleared (both automatically and manually).
Path was reset; GoZ restart attempted.
Point count should match (no topology-changing operations were used).
The model was imported into ZBrush from CC5 through GoZ, not through OBJ or any external method.
Sculptris Pro was not active because sculpt layers were used.
Hello, rinkatiamat,
Thank you for your feedback.
We are sorry that we couldn't reproduce your issue based on the description you provided. Could you please provide a video of the entire process? You can upload it to YouTube and share the link with us for further verification.
Additionally, please make sure that when you update the mesh from ZBrush back to CC, you are using the "GoZPlus" interface and pressing the "All" button, or if you are using the "GoZ" button, ensure that you are only sending the current Subtool back. Also, verify that you have selected the correct mesh in CC (e.g., Body).
Thank you, regards.
Tina.
