Issue 12325
Blender Rigify can't rig prefixed exports
When I imported multiple characters into a Blender (4.4) file without having a prefix, it overlapped and caused issues for the appearances, so I tried adding a prefix during the export from CC5. After exporting, I tried importing the same way I did without the prefix, and it refused to (at least) rig the character, although it succeeded fine without the prefix.

It seems to stop after the initial load of the character, so I'm thinking it fails wrinkles, rigify, and physics.

* Export from CC5 with a prefix (Blender export selected)
* Fresh blender file (not previously used for anything — 4.4.3)
* Used the Auto Setup plugin to import with “Rigify” selected before import
* Character is brought in, no rig

That’s the entire process.

Without the prefix (everything default in CC5), I did exactly what I did above and it rigged the character… but importing a second character created texture conflicts.

I can’t show the process because I was using a trial that’s now expired, but, those were the exact steps.

You said suffix. I never tried suffix, but if that works, good to know (although even weirder that prefix doesn’t).

Thanks.

HI pdi247

It seems that you may have encountered the following two issues, but we are not entirely certain:

1. Importing multiple characters may cause material errors.
2. Re-exporting and then importing a character with a new suffix may result in the character being unable to rig.

This is just our guess. We may still need you to provide the files and a video of your process so that we can better determine the issue you are facing.

We hope you can assist us with this, and we will work to clarify the problem as quickly as possible. You can attach them in your next message, and if you prefer other users not to see them, you can set the message to private.
