"Apply Head Color to Body" option broken on first try when using ActorMixer head skins
Hey, found a frustrating bug when using the ActorMixer core library head skins. Every time I apply a head skin and check the "Apply Head Color to Body" box in the pop-up menu, it doesn't actually work on the first attempt.

The new texture and skin tone change the head, but the body gets completely left behind, leaving a massive, mismatched skin color seam right at the neck. To get the body to actually match, I have to spam the apply button and repeat the exact same process multiple times until it finally registers.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open up a character in CC.

2.Go to the ActorMixer core library and pick a head skin, Apply it.

4. When the Apply Material prompt pops up, make sure "Apply Head Color to Body" is checked (shown in CharacterCreator_pQNn3K17y7.png) and hit Apply.

5. Check out the neck/shoulder area in the viewport.

Actual Result

The skin color only changes on the head mesh. The body keeps its old texture/color, creating an obvious broken seam where the neck meets the torso (shown in CharacterCreator_bszNawKBBp.jpg). It forces me to do this whole process over and over before the body finally catches up and matches.

Expected Result

If "Apply Head Color to Body" is checked, it should actually apply to the body the first time around. I shouldn't have to re-apply the preset multiple times to make it work.

Hi Kayla,

Thanks for getting back to me.

To answer your question about the character base, I'm using a CC3+ base.

I’ve put together a screen recording showing the exact workflow and the bug happening, along with the .ccProject file right before applying the skin so your QA team can test it directly.

Here is the link to the folder (permissions are set to anyone with the link):

Let me know if you need anything else to track this down!

Best regards

Hi TechAmulets,

Thank you for reporting this issue, and providing the screenshots! I can completely understand how frustrating it must be to deal with mismatched skin seams and having to repeat the same process just to get it to work.

Our QA team has followed your steps to try and reproduce this bug, but so far, the "Apply Head Color to Body" option seems to be working correctly on the first attempt in our test environments.

To help us figure out why this is breaking on your end, we need to narrow down the variables. Could you please clarify what specific character you are using in Step 1? (e.g., Is it a default CC3+ base, a customized character, or imported from elsewhere?) If possible, sharing your specific .ccProject file before the skin application would be incredibly helpful.

Additionally, it would be a huge help if you could record a short screen capture video showing the exact process—from selecting the ActorMixer head skin, clicking Apply, the seam appearing, to you having to re-apply it multiple times to fix it. Sometimes, seeing the exact workflow in real-time reveals hidden clues that text descriptions might miss.

You can upload the video and the project file to a cloud storage service (like Google Drive or Dropbox) and share the link with us here. (Please ensure the permissions are set to "Anyone with the link can view").

We look forward to hearing from you so we can get this sorted out!

Best regards,
Kayla
