unfortunately no luck running it.. I tried everything.. first it wouldn't open at all.. and after trying the DPI over ride. it opened.. but it crashes right away

Finally!!!!!!! Thank you beathouse2003 I have tried everything that was suggest by support, forums, and everything here. This worked. One setting under the compatibility tab. 1 - Right click on the shortcut on your desktop for 3dxchange 2 - Click on the compatibility tab 3 - Check the box that says "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by: 4 - On the dropdown menu, directly underneath, select "System (Enhanced) 5 - Click "Apply" then click "OK"
SOLVED!! For me at least. I had this same issue, and I came here first to find a solution. Needless to say I was pretty disappointed when I couldn't find one. I searched everywhere, did the stuff I found on other pages such as removing iClone and 3dxchange and ALL visual C++ redistributables. No luck. Spent 9 hours yesterday d*ck*ng around with this, doing everything from the most complex procedures down to the simplest. Wanna know what worked? It may be that it is trying to run on the Intel graphics. Make sure it is running on the Nvidia card. Here's a video on setting it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mutQBjfs0P0
