Optimizing Performance
Using iClone and Unreal Engine
at the same time might duplicate system loading. Below we offer suggestions on how to help increase the frames per second (FPS) for better performance.
In iClone:
When conducting a
Live Link
recording, try to keep the window focus on iClone. This gives iClone the highest possible frame rate for full-frame animation transfer. (more than 50 FPS are recommended for optimal Unreal animation recording.)
Disable iClone Physics simulation feature.
Un-link objects that are out of the view, in order to not send their animations to Unreal Engine.
Close any unnecessary panels (e.g. Timeline, Curve Editor) or unnecessary toolbars, when playingback iClone projects.
If GPU memory is tight, set iClone to minimal mode in order to yield more texturing memory to Unreal Engine for high quality rendering.
In Unreal:
Hide the character that is not involved in recording through the World Outliner.
Record separately when possible. It is suggested that you link less than 2 characters for recording each time.
