iClone 7.8 fails to save project, crashes on save as, similar to #5781
After working on my project for a while saving the project doesn't work anymore. The little "changed" star remains and the file on disk doesn't get updated.

So far I haven't lost too much because of this, but it is enervating.

It works by using "Save As...", but iClone ALWAYS crashes when I do that. However, the saved file can be opened and has all changes as expected.

The project file is around 440MB, so I can't attach it. I think I still have old copies of the project that don't show this problem. I've not noticed any problem with the project itself so far, so it's not obviously corrupt and if, that would be a bug as well, obviously.

Hi again,

I recorded a video with the new project. I added the axe so I have a change that needs saving.

As you can see "Save" runs through, but the asterisk remains (and the file remains untouched on disk, too).

The new project file created during "Save As..." works just fine and has the axe in it.

As you can witness in the video iClone crashes after "Save As".

Maybe there are any logs to send or a debug feature to turn on to get logs?

Could this be related to Windows Security? I have no other Anti-Virus installed.

Hi,

no, I have not changed the project path. I do have a custom content path though, but I haven't changed it for a long time. I had to move the content when I installed the software.

It also crashes consistently when doing "Save as...". Luckily the restore changes features works pretty well for those cases when iClone simply crashed by itself.

I just updated to the last version (right after creating this ticket) and it has not changed.

Actually right now I have another project with only a single avatar and three motions attached to it and now it doesn't save as well.

I have got it.Thank you.But I can save it.Did you change project folder path or name ever?Please update to iClone7.81 from Reallusion Hub and try it again.
