There could be a preset for toony finger rigs with less than 3 finger bones as the one in the pic. You can see that the tip bones will end either out of too close to the middle segment bone, which is kinda bad as deleting bones in other programs could break stuff later.

AccuRig is much preferred since it's free and have an much easier setup than CC plus the required specs...
