Auto Setup Maya 2024 Eye controls incorrect
Hello,
All of the characters I import from CC5 using the Maya 2024 Auto setup have incorrect rotations on the eyes. For example, when I move the eyelook to the right, the eyes will spin in place rather than to turn toward the right. I can work around this, but I was wondering if there is a way to fix it so that the rig works properly.

Hi,BitterAlmond

Thank you for the update and the files.

It is great to hear that your subsequent character export is working correctly.

We took a preliminary look at the files you provided, and interestingly, the character setup appears to be normal. The Jaw bone binding looks correct, which contradicts our initial suspicion.

If you encounter this same issue again in the future, or if you have trouble with a specific character, please feel free to send us the files again.

However, please submit a NEW ticket (or issue) for that report, as we will be proceeding to close this current case for now.

Thanks again for your help!

Hi BitterAlmond

Glad to hear the Face Rig issue with the eyes has been resolved.

Regarding the new issue you reported: it does appear to be a problem, as the Jaw bone seems not to be correctly bound to the mouth area.

To help us investigate, we need to clarify the origin of this character. Please let us know how this character was originally created.

Additionally, please provide the source files for the character, such as the FBX or ccAvatar files. If possible, providing both formats would be the fastest way for us to troubleshoot the issue.

Hello. I am using version 1.0 of the Auto Setup plugin. I had heard something about an update to the plugin a while back, and know I reached out to tech support regarding a different issue I had been having just after the Auto Setup came out, sometime in October. At the time i was told to reinstall the plugin and after searching for the update I didn't find it, so that's why I still have version 1.0.

How do I go about updating it? Once I have updated the plugin, can I correct the current face board I have, or do I have to re-import the original character files and start over from scratch? Ideally I would prefer to fix this manually if at all possible assuming the latter is the case as I have made extensive alterations in the interim. If this isn't possible, it would still be nice to have the updated version of the plugin.

Thank you for your time.

Hi BitterAlmond

Could you please confirm the version number of the "Maya Reallusion Auto Setup" plugin you are currently using? We ask because a similar issue was addressed in a previous update, so we need to confirm if your version includes that fix.

If you are already using the latest version, could you please provide your Maya Project file? This will allow us to run tests on our end to pinpoint the problem.

Regarding the file upload: Please upload your project to a cloud service (e.g., Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox) and share the download link here. To ensure your files remain confidential and invisible to other users, please make sure to mark your reply as "Private" (or check the "Private Comment" box) before posting.
