Hi blindman, Thank you for pointing out my mistake. I have already reported this poor user experience to our development team for further review. Thank you again for your feedback and detailed explanation. Steven Reallusion
I predicted this is what your reply would be! I already stated that unless the navigation controls are set to exactly the same as mine, you wouldnt be able to reproduce the issue. Again the object select/ manipulation is indirectly controlled by the options selected in the navigation control For example you use ALT for pan and orbit, This setting indirectly sets the object translate and rotate to "none" indirectly by the software Mine is set to "none" for the pan and orbit, so the the object translate and rotate get set to "ALT" indirectly by the software This is based on if you use LMB to control pan. if you use a different mouse button, the object translate may stay the same or shift to some other combination, depending on the selections in the other options Try seting your pan camera to "none LMB" i guarantee in order to translate an object you'll none longer be able to without pressing a keystroke combination. There are 4 navigation functions each has 14 options with 48 possible combinations. There would be a progressive reduction in this number as each selection would be reduced by the previous options choosen This would be compounded by whatever algorithm is coded in to shift the object manipulation controls based on the user selections for the navigation controls The fact that you say you cant replicate the specific need for CTRL/SHIFT for path functions is misdirect on your part The issue isnt that this happens, but that it's not visible to the user and completely undocumented in the help files. and without a display panel showing what the software set the object control key strokes to as a result of the user choices in the navigation control panel. The user is left with trial and error to discover them. Which includes the path controls. I've attached my settings I normally use a space pilot to navigate but since the last update iclone has a habit of rotating a selected object instead of orbiting it but thats another issue
Hi blindman, Are your Preference settings configured as shown below? My settings are configured this way, and I’m unable to reproduce the issue you described. Steven Reallusion
