Morph animation starts too late for objects/props
Hi,

I’ve found an issue with morph animations on props/objects.
When animating a morph from 0 to 100, the actual transformation doesn’t start at frame 0 as expected — it only begins around frame 88, even though the morph key is set at frame 0 and the target key (100%) is at frame 100.

In other words, the morph remains static for most of the timeline, and the shape change (for example, a ball morphing into a vase) happens abruptly near the end of the animation instead of smoothly transitioning across the entire duration.

I’ve attached an image showing this example with a ball morphing into a vase, and included a project file so the team can easily reproduce the issue.

Steps to reproduce:

Create an object with a morph target (e.g., sphere to vase).

Add a morph animation from 0% at frame 0 to 100% at frame 100.

Play the animation.

Notice that the morph only begins changing close to frame 88 instead of starting from frame 0.

Expected result:
The morph should start blending smoothly from frame 0 and complete at frame 100.

PS : Please also add the ability to create or edit morphs on characters with SubD levels enabled

Hi Soya,

Thank you for checking and for the quick reply!

I’m currently using iClone v8.63, and I can confirm that the issue still occurs under certain conditions.
You’re right, after saving and reloading the project, the morph transition works correctly.

However, the problem comes back if I add a new morph and then click “Update Morph to iClone” in Morph Creator.
In that case, the morph transition again starts only near the end of the animation until I restart or reload the project.

Interestingly, if I use “Send/Replace to iClone” instead, the bug doesn’t happen.

So it seems related specifically to the Update Morph to iClone process.

Hope this helps reproduce the issue more precisely!

Best regards,
Leowald

Hi Leowald,

Thank you for helping further clarify this. I’ve already been aware that “Update Morph to iClone” in Morph Creator has an issue, and I’ve reported it to the RD team. We will fix it as soon as possible. Thank you.

Hi Leowald,

Thank you for your feedback.
This issue has been fixed in iClone v8.63. I tested it using the iProject file you provided, and from frames 1 to 100, the morph transition works normally. I also created a new morph prop myself, and it behaves correctly as well. Please see the attached image. Please double-check your iClone version. Thank you.
