Issue 11206
Issues with CC4 Exported FBX Files After Editing in 3ds Max and Importing into Unity
I have encountered a problem when working with characters designed in Character Creator 4 (CC4). After exporting these characters as FBX files and making modifications in 3ds Max, I found that the FBX files, once exported from 3ds Max, do not remain compatible with their original versions from CC4. This incompatibility arises specifically when the FBX files exported from CC4 are edited in 3ds Max and then exported again as FBX files.

The primary issues concern the rigging structures and animation compatibility. It seems that the modifications in 3ds Max disrupt the original rigging and animation setups, leading to problems when importing these files into Unity.

My desired workflow involves keeping the original CC4 file in Unity, then creating animations for it in 3ds Max and exporting them. However, this process is not working as expected, which forces me to work on animations either in iClone or directly within Unity. This workaround is inconvenient for my project needs.
