Issue 5417
CC3 avatars come in with GI turned on
I don't know if this is actually a CC3 problem or an iClone one, but whether you directly transfer a CC3 avatar over or if you just save it and then drag/drop it into iClone it will come in with GI turned on for all avatar body textures, which is a Very Bad Thing (you can select them all and turn them off, but you should not have to do this).

It's very odd because they are NOT on in CC3 (so clearly this is some kind of problem -- even if someone intended -- wrongheadedly -- to have them on, they should also be on in CC3. But, honestly, they should never be on, as this causes the avatar to glow and otherwise not perform properly).

I don't know how long it's been this way -- I just noticed it recently but tests have revealed it is doing this for every avatar I try (so I don't think I need to give you examples, although I will if you want).

Let's close this issue -- while I'm still not convinced flesh tones should have GI turned on by default, I also see that's how it's always been and with *most* lighting it doesn't make a difference (it really shows up only when the lights are so very dim the light from the skin causes glowing, which is definitely unnatural).

I'm going to put a video here showing the difference between an avatar which doesn't have the "glow" problem and one that does. The more I look at this the more I'm hoping this is the difference between an avatar with substance on it (the "old" avatars) and the CC3 ones (which do not have substance... yet). If so, then perhaps in the meantime (the time it will take for you to get substance on CC3 avatars) you should have GI turned off or at least bounce turned WAY down on these.
