Qualification & Requirements

  • To submit, all participants should be Reallusion registered members (membership is free) and submit their videos to YouTube or Vimeo, and fill in the Submission Form with their video title, video description, credits and contact information before October 5th, 2020 (Midnight/Pacific Time).
    • Note: To compete in the “YouTuber Animation” category, participants must have over 1,000 subscribers in their YouTube channel, and only submit videos to that channel.
  • Participants must use Cartoon Animator 4 PRO or Pipeline and/or CrazyTalk Animator in the creation of their videos. Know More about Cartoon Animator
  • Earn Extra Credits
  • The title of the video entries must begin with the text: "Animation At Work 2020".
  • The video description of the entries must include "Cartoon Animator link: https://www.reallusion.com/cartoon-animator/default.html "
  • All video entries must have the Contest logo at the end for at least 3 seconds.

  • Winners will be posted on the 'Animation at Work' website, on the Reallusion forum pages and notified through e-mail.
  • Winners will get a chance to be featured in well-known media outlets, and possible interviews for additional exposure.
  • Winners will have an opportunity to be selected as Feature Developers, or work on outsourced projects to monetize their creations to the Cartoon Animator 2D community. Know More
  • Video length:
    • Business Animation: at least 1 Minute
    • Comic Animation: over 30 seconds
    • YouTuber Animation: at least 1 Minute
    • Education Animation: at least 1 Minute
  • Submitted videos may incorporate footage from other videos or commercial clips for a media mash-up, but the submission would need to have at least 40% Cartoon Animator generated footage inside.
  • Video entries may be submitted in any language but they MUST have English voice dubs, or subtitles for worldwide viewing and appreciation. Take note that this is an international competition.

  • A persuasive and understandable storyline, with a tempo that makes people want to watch along with audio narrations, sound and visual effects.

  • Participants are allowed to use existing characters and assets acquired from the Reallusion Content Store.
  • Original creations or significantly modified Content Store characters are preferred.

Animation Skill
  • Create intricate facial expressions, talking animations with appropriate mouth shapes.
  • Distinctive body motion styles for characters and animations. Cartoon physics with motion curves are preferred.
  • Deliver natural interactions with Scenes, Props and other characters.

  • Transform static comic/images into engaging short stories or animated pieces.
  • Participants can create short trailers with rich character personalities and dramatic behaviors.

Character Creation
  • Original character designs are required.
  • Original properly displayed character designs are preferred. (Prove your original designs)
  • Full character setups with unique facial expressions, and properly rigged original body styles.

  • Create intricate facial expressions, talking animations with appropriate mouth shapes.

  • Combine real video footage with animated elements.
  • Create 2D presentations, or teaser cut scenes with animated illustrations, virtual hosts or both.
  • High view count and viewer positive feedback is preferred.

Character Creation
  • Participants are allowed to use existing characters and assets acquired from the Reallusion Content Store.
  • Original creations or significantly modified Content Store characters are preferred.

  • Make a short animation which can be focusing on topics like teaching, science, environment, sports or any area you are interested in.

Other Rules & Criteria

  • The grading of award prizes can be made by "judges' score" or "video view count" (means the video view in the sharing site). Please refer to the Prizes page to know more about the winning criteria.
  • At Reallusion's request, winners may be asked to provide additional contact information for purpose of prize delivery.
  • Reallusion reserves the right to cancel this competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control, or if the number of participants do not exceed the minimum number decided by Reallusion.
  • Reallusion states that all winner announcements are final. Winners will not be chosen based on popularity votes or any other factors other than overall judgment from the judging panel.
  • By submitting an entry, participants automatically agree and certify that they have read and agreed to all the rules and requirements governing this particular event. By submitting videos, participants also grant Reallusion the permission to use their creative work in any future marketing events or promotions held by Reallusion.
  • Reallusion would like to make clear that it does not profit from this event. All Reallusion competitions are done out of good faith and with the purpose of sharing ideas and bringing communities together.
