Hello, I recently came across this problem. My problem is I have an imported prop (Picture Frame) that is "linked" to my character's hand. However when exporting this "linked" prop with the character to Cinema 4D, upon opening in C4D there is no animation for the prop.
I used the link tool to link the prop to the character's hand, then a few frames later used the unlink tool to unlink it from the character's hand. I tried exporting as .FBX as tutorial suggested, no prop animation in C4D. I then tried baking the prop animation via "Animation>Flatten All Motion With Constraint" as tutorial suggested, still no prop animation in C4D. I also tried export the prop by itself as .FBX, and .ABC, still no prop animation in C4D.
I realize using the attach option could help, but for my case i don't think it will. The object is suppose to be a picture frame that is sitting on a drawer, and is then picked up at a later time, so using the attach option would just make the picture frame constantly attached to my hand from the start, which is not what I'm looking for.
Hi, I just followed the tutorial and it seems to be working fine now, thank you for the help. It's much appreciated! Cheers

Hello thanks for the reply.
Firstly,
For your iClone FBC Flatten Animation test, was a prop inside Reallusion's content used? Or an external prop? In my case, it was an external imported model converted to prop from Cinema 4D.
Secondly,
In your reply, you state "When we re-import the FBX into iClone, everything works correctly" However as I stated in my initial question, my problem is exporting the .FBX to Cinema 4D, not back into iClone.
Thirdly, as a side note I did test to see even if the export .FBX would work upon being re-imported back into iClone 8, and still the prop has 0 animation data. (Image attached)
When I export an .FBX animation with a prop from iClone 8, the prop contains no animation data when being imported into Cinema 4D.
I've attached a screenshot to show you the Cinema 4D scene, and as you can see in the image, the prop has no animation tags. It contains 0 animation data when being imported into Cinema 4D. (Image attached)

Hi,
We followed your description and performed the following steps. The test worked without any issues. Please refer to the video of the process here: https://youtu.be/-iRU36qZvBc?si=Y9flGvE8_6QlSWBM
1. Export the prop mesh from C4D as an .FBX file
2. Import the .FBX into IC and link it to the hand
3. Then unlink and detach it
4. Flatten the animation
5. Export as FBX
6. Import it into C4D (including the animation)

Hi,
We enabled the iClone FBX Flatten Animation test and then exported an FBX with animation. When we re-import the FBX into iClone, everything works correctly (the FBX does indeed contain animation data).
We’d like to confirm your export workflow:
1. After creating the Link and Unlink prop animations, go to Animation > Flatten All Motion With Constraint (step1.png).
2. According to the FBX export settings, make sure the animation range is included in the export (step2.png).
