It is already possible to use the TrueDepth camera system of the iPhone for facial motion capture with iClone.

For very realistic recreation of actors, a method of using the TrueDepth camera to build a 3D topology of an actors head would be an excellent extension of the Headshot plug-in. This could also assist with placement and shape of teeth, along with ears, nose, ears etc.
