To the Technical Support Team,
I am writing to report a critical bug that is severely impacting my production pipeline.
1. Workflow & Context: I use Live Link for multi-person motion capture. To manage system resources with multiple characters, I have always converted characters not currently undergoing mocap to "Character Lite" mode. This workflow has been stable in previous versions.
2. The Issue (Crash): However, in the current version, iClone crashes immediately when I convert a character to "Lite" mode and then try to switch to "Edit" mode.
3. Hardware Specs: This is definitely not a hardware resource issue. My system specifications are extremely high:
GPU: RTX 5090 & RTX 4090
RAM: Over 190 GB
4. Permanent Data Corruption (Look At feature): The more serious problem is that once a character has been converted to "Lite," it becomes permanently corrupted. Even if I try to revert or use the character again, functions like "Look At" fail to activate and the character behaves abnormally.
5. Critical Request: I currently have project files with hours of motion capture data that I cannot edit or recover due to this bug.
Is there any workaround to recover the corrupted characters in my current files?
Please prioritize fixing this crash and corruption issue immediately.
I await your urgent reply.
Honestly, you don't even need a sample file to see this. You can reproduce it instantly with these simple steps:
Open a clean, empty iClone project.
Load two default characters.
Convert one of them to "Character Lite" and then immediately switch back to "Edit" mode.
There is a very high probability that iClone will crash immediately. Even if it manages to stay open, the "Look At" function becomes completely unresponsive.
This is a fundamental and critical bug in the current version. Please test this on your end right away and provide a solution.
