Product:
iClone 7
Version:
7.7
Status:
Not Reproducible
Issue 6474
Cannot save anything.
I cannot save anything in iC7.7

The save "+" buttons are all greyed out, I can't remember how we fixed this in the past.

Really need these to work, I've tried reinstalling through the HUB with no luck.

Hi Snarp Farkle,

Sorry for the late reply.
I have tried to install iClone 7.71 and using USB drive for Custom and Template folder. The add "+" button works fine without "grayed out".
Our development team reports that the add button will be grayed out only if the folder not exist or not accessible. So if you encounter this issue again, please help to check the folder location by clicking "Find File", and leave a comments with the screen capture of File Explorer for us.
Thanks for your help.

I reinstalled iC7.7 using the current C: drive for the Custom folder and the save buttons now show and function properly.

This confirms, for me at least, that the iC7.7 update has a flaw that won't allow a custom folder to be used on a USB Drive anymore, this really needs to be addressed, in my opinion, as it should work as it did before the iC7.7 update.

Ok, this is getting confusing so I'll try to put this in a better perspective.

Desktop Machine: (1TB hard drive)
Prior to Feb 2019 all versions of iClone's Template and Custom folders were on the USB drive and did not experience the "greyed out" save buttons. Since Feb 2019 all versions of iClone's Template and Custom folders have to be on the "C:" drive in order to avoid the "greyed out" save buttons. CC3 has not experienced the "greyed out" save buttons on the USB or C: the drive.

Laptop Machine: (237.35 GB Hard Drive)
All versions of Reallusion product's Template and Custom folders have always been on a 3TB USB drive and iClone did not experience the "greyed out" save buttons until the iC7.7 upgrade. CC3 has not experienced the "greyed out" save buttons.

I have ordered a new 2TB Hard Drive for the laptop which will be here in about week, to be sure that this issue is or is not an iClone 7 problem, I will reinstall iC7 using the current C: drive for the Custom folder this time and only put a few things in it so I can continue to work on some projects before the new drive arrives.
