Issue 6733
Bug: iClone messes up saved files
Ref: Support TicketID : 174521

As requested by Support, I´m reporting an issue with iClone Save function.

Please check the attached image. That collection of building blocks was quite an intricate multiple room house (see the floor plan) model a couple of days ago. .. I have complained about this action far back with iClone version 6.
It seems this happens when you make copies of objects. When saved, the original object and all copies revert to some state zero, in absolute same place, on top of each other. They still exist in the props list, but all information about the completed model seem to have vanished.

From this detail it´s apparent that at save, iClone restores objects to some zero state, maybe from the bottom of the undo stack.
The bluish cube is the 3D basic block I started from. Strangely it has the texture still. So all objects seems to revert to same kind of step 1.

I have been using the "Save project as" function in the File menu.
NOTE: there was similar behavior/bug in version 6. I contacted the support then, and the response was to migrate to version 7. It seems the cause is still there.

Dear Heiko,

Thank you for reporting this issue.
You mentioned this issue happens when making copies of objects. Please be aware that you’d better do the object copy at time 0. Otherwise iClone will automatically add two transform keys to the copied object - the original place at time 0, and the moved position at the time you copy the object. If that's the case, you can fix it by dragging playhead to the time where you think the copied object in the right position, right-click on the copied object and select “Remove Object Animation”.

However, this is just my guess. Can you provide one of the messed project for us to check?
You can attach the project to the next private comment. If the file size is larger than 10MB, you can use cloud services such as Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive to make the files available to us and put the link in your comment.

Thanks for your help!

Irving
