I created a support ticket for this issue but they told me it was due to the new auto deform system in CTA3:
My character’s hands resize from Deform within the 2D Motion Key Editor. The resizing is extreme and looks strange in the animation.

CTA does not support masking Animation like Adobe Animate (Flash) this will give an additional effects to the current animations we are making on CTA. hope to get this feature soon....More

I use CTA with iClone a LOT... every week... but I'd use it every day, if the pipeline between the 2 was more efficient.
