Issue 390
(lights workaround) Backlight - a "halo/glowing" effect around the edges of a subject positioned between a spot light and camera that are facing each other.
Some way to mimic real lights that create a backlight effect when there's an object between a camera and a light that's facing the camera (an illuminated halo around subject) that would subtly separate the subject from the background.

I think this is one of the reasons iClone movies look "flat" and "2D"

Backlighting could be simulated via some kind of "edge illumination/glow effect" around the visible edge of characters and props/objects. When switched on at individual object/character level, the camera "sees' the object/character + halo effect. Objects that have it switched off (like the foreground tree trunk on the left of the image) don't show a halo/glow.

The effect would need to be key-able to mimic changes in light intensity.

Needed in iClone 6.x if possible please.

That should read: "It would be". (I wish there was way to edit for typos.)

I find calling it a bug kind of confusing. A would be a nice feature to have, for sure, although I disagree with your assessment of iClone movies.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Add iclone spotlight & camera to a scene
2. Place a small dummy halfway between the camera & light and have both light & character look at the dummy.
3. Add a character and position it exactly where the dummy is with dummy being at centre of character's chest.
4. Turn off the global / directonal lights & self illumination.
5. Render.

Expected result: Soft glowing edges around the character.
