Why doesn't iclone / cc4 / 5 use the same content library folder? forcing me to redownload the thousands of assets I have in each version is ridiculous. The amount of disk space just downloading my content library once is bad enough but having to download it multiple times for each version is crazy. Why?
iClone 8, CC4, and CC5 use the same folder for both Template and Custom content.
The installation status is stored in a local database, and currently they are not synced automatically.
However, if your content is already installed in one program, simply double-clicking it in another program will sync the installation status without re-downloading the files. You can check the 'View Installing List' to confirm.
You can switch to the Pack tab, hold Shift to select multiple packs, then right-click to install them. This will quickly sync the installation status.
