No scale tool for your CC characters
Hi I have just bought a copy of the new iClone 6 and Character creator. I tested it thoroughly but in my haste to learn a new seemingly amazing software i didnt notice that it wasnt possible to scale any of my characters heights unless i shelled out another $69 for the essentials morphing pack. This i think is either a genius move on Reallusions part to create exorbitant amounts of money by making it essential to have to buy addons to complete the most simplest of tasks or as no one mentioned it before.

It seems i am not the only person on the planet who has had this problem so could someone please please create an update so a simple height scaling slider can be added to either Character creator or iClone.

I feel that i have been shafted yet again by corporate stooges tempting me into purchasing an inadequate piece of software.
To say i am extremely annoyed is an understatement. All my previous rantings about how cool and brilliant iClone was seems rather immature. and i will be posting on facebook in the near future warning of the pitfalls of buying something that seems to good to be true, even if the original cost was more than i could have afforded to spend in the first place.

i can be reached by email at woody173@live.co.uk for your response.

If character scale info is available automatically in the current version CC, I guess I never saw it, because that misguided and obscuring warning, PHYSX: CPU, overlays it.
PLEASE SKIP DISPLAYING THE PHYSX: CPU error message on our viewport!

I had to do a Google site search on the Reallusion forum to find out how Character Creator reports character scale. 3 years ago Animagic explained that Ctrl-F causes Character Creator to give the height in centimeters.
This is very valuable information; I couldn't find it by using a search through the online manual.
My recommendations:
(1) Document this in a prominent way.
(2) For those of us unfortunately stuck with imperial measures, repeat the information in feet and inches.
(3) Make the info also available with a right-click on the character.
(4) Add a user control for setting the character height directly, while keeping proportions the same.

There is no such thing as a "FULL BODY SCALE" slider in Character Creator. The characters are severely limited intentionally, which makes them fine for standard sets, but nothing specialized.

So the "Full Body Scale" comes with the "Essentials" pack?

Wow, that really is essential. It seems like it should be in the base product.

I think a good ENHANCEMENT REQUEST would be to allow *BASIC SCALING* of CC avatars *IN ICLONE*, just like you can G5 characters. It's not a good way to turn an adult into a child or a giant, but it would be an easy (and reasonably convincing way) to change character height by +/- 10% without them looking odd, and you'd get some height variability in your characters without any fuss.

That, and/or REQUESTING that Full Body Scale be moved into the CC base product.

Making those requests might have been more productive than filling the original post with sarcasm. But that's just my opinion.

There is no full body scale in the basic version, but there is quite a bit of adjustability.

Step through each body part and adjust any slider that says length. You can also drag directly on the character body parts. If you need to change something beyond what it can morph, hit the "Bake" button in the toolbar. That bakes the mesh and zeros-out your sliders so you can apply them again. You can also type numbers (positive or negative) into the numerical box. This allows you to go way beyond what the sliders can.
