Issue 363
LiveUpdate: please add sequential ordering of updates
In some cases where LiveUpdate has a multiple updates to download, it attempts to install them in an order that fails with an error message.

For example it may have a list of updates X (which depends on iClone having been updated to a specific version) and Y (containing the iClone update required by X) and then it attempts to install X first. In this kind of situation it would be great if it was smart enough to hold a dependency structure and use that for determining what order to install the updates in.

Sorry pmaina, I think I did not include enough detail in my posting. The scenario I described in the posting can happen if you have e.g. both the iClone Character Creator and iClone installed.

If LiveUpdate has an update only for iClone then it seems to be working fine and those updates are probably cumulative (or in any case LiveUpdate seems to be able to determine what update you need). The problem happens when there is an update for iClone and some related application such as the Character Creator.

Often it may go like this:
1. LiveUpdate attempts to update the software in some (wrong) order and starts with update X
2. After proceeding for a couple of minutes the process realizes that update cannot be applied because iClone has not been updated
3. User looks at the list of updates shown in LiveUpdate and unticks all of them except the one for iClone
4. User launches the update for iClone and iClone is updated
5. User then selects the other updates which are applied

Oh my, I thought updates were cumulative... This shouldn't happen. RL please advise...
