Issue 2269
Failed to Load iAvatar into Character Creator 2
I downloaded the trial versions of the following products:
Character Creator v2.01 Lite
iClone 3DXchange v6.52 Pipeline Trial
iClone v6.53 PRO Trial

All should be the latest versions since I downloaded them today.
I want to import a character from DAZ Studio into Character Creator 2, here are the steps I used:
1. Opened DAZ Studio and set the character then exported the character in .fbx format
2. Load the fbx file into 3DXchange, it correctly identified it as a G3F character. I then exported the character in iAvatar
3. Tried to load the iAvatar into Character Creator 2 but get a "Failed to Load" message without any other information

The iAvatar opens just fine in iClone 6, I can manipulate the character, animate etc without any problems so I don't think there is a problem with the fbx export settings. If it works in iClone 6 why doesn't it work on Character Creator 2?

Thank you for your feedback.

Currently CC supports only the "CC_Standard" character, it can be created only in CC. Any fbx go into 3DX will be saved as the "NonSTD" character, and can not be loaded into CC. You can check the Character Type from the Node section in 3DX.

Character Creator can not open/import any characters created outside of CC. This goes for the G1 to G5 iClone characters as well as any converted from DAZ using 3DXchange.

This is not a Bug, but a known restriction.
