How to Use the Hair Segments?  
     
 
 

How it works:

 
 
  A. Design the outline of hairstyles and choose the proper hair segments.
  B. Copy the segments and then place them in the appropriate location.
  C. Group the segments and make them become a single Prop.
  D. Creative ideas: You can create some special props such as a feather fan.

Design the outline of hairstyles and choose the proper hair segments.

 
 
A-1 Design the outline of hairstyles.
 

For example, create a fantasy hairstyle as the picture below.

Apply any character and apply the hairstyle in Actor/Hair.

Apply the proper segments according to your outline of the hairstyle.
 
 
 
 

B.Copy the segment and then place them to the appropriate location.

 
 
B-1 Move the segment to the appropriate position via Transform Tool.
 

Tip. If you can not see Gizmo, please make sure that the Preference/Object Manipulation Transform Gizmo box is checked.

Switch to Move/Rotate mode.

Hold down the Ctrl key, and then move/rotate/scale the segment. Upon the release of the Mouse key, the segment will be duplicated. Keep doing this until the hairstyle is completed.

 
 
 
 

C.Group the segments and make them become a single Prop.

 
 
C-1 Apply any default 3D Block and move it to the appropriate position via Transform Tool. Make sure that the Prop/Set as Dummy box is checked.(Dummy object will not be rendered.)
 
  Tip. If you can not see the ball (Default 3D Block) after Set as Dummy is checked, please make sure that Dummy Object is checked in Preference/Display Information/Dummy Object.

Choose all the segments from the Scene Manager.

Right click to execute Attach and click on the Dummy to attach all the segments to the Dummy.

You can operate on the Default Block easily to move, scale, rotate, and save the whole hairstyle.

 
 
 

D.Creative ideas: You can create some special props such as a feather fan.

Move the segment to the appropriate position via Transform Tool, and you can also adjust the Rotate/Scale.

Make sure that Preference/Grid Options/Angle Snap is checked, and fill in the appropriate angle. (Ex. 15 degrees).

Hold down the Ctrl key, and then rotate the segment. Upon the release of the Mouse key, the segment will be duplicated. Keep doing this until the first layer of the fan is completed.

Fill in the appropriate angle (Ex. 8 degrees), and select the other one segment.

  Repeat D-4 to create the second layer of fan as below.

You can adjust the Scale/Rotate via Transform Tool separately to make the fan more natural.
