TURN STATIC MODELS
INTO LIVING CHARACTERS

Auto Rigging Humanoid 3D Models

With built-in AccuRIG technology, Character Creator not only is able to auto-rig humanoid models, it has all the critical manual editing features which allows users to cope with complicated multi-mesh structures, users can preserve hard surfaces from skin-rig items, also be able refine skin weight for perfect skin binding result, and even choose bone complexities.

RIG & ANIMATE HUMANOID CHARACTERS OF ALL KINDS

Character Creator is designed to simplify the character production workflow, and enliven character artist’s models. AccuRIG technology is highly focused on dealing with A/T Pose characters generated from 3D scan or made by digital sculpting. Works with single or multi-mesh models, and gives users partial rig possibility on irregular models.

RIG YOUR CHARACTERS IN MINUTES

Automatic & Guided Rigging Process

Easily follow the process steps to get auto rigged results and see your character in action. Each step is customizable and reversible, move the guide points anytime, adjust the bone location, and rebind skin for the optimal skeletal placement. Further choose to refine the skin weight for perfect joint movements. See Tutorial >

Save Bone Definition

Often, game character designers might choose to use the same bone scale for a set of characters, Character Creator allows designers to rig a character once, and utilize the same bone definition profile for other characters with the same body scale to save from repetitive character rigs.

RE-RIGGING, REPURPOSE & REDUCTION

RE-RIG, REPURPOSE, REDUCTION

Have a previously rigged character but want to take advantage of CC’s character pipeline? The AccuRIG technology gives you the options to re-rig the character based on your character’s existing skeleton joints, it not only gives a higher-accurate rig, but also is able to keep facial bones for original facial animation.

Character Reduction (LOD)

Once the character is re-rigged for CC, there are myriads of benefits - Actorcore mocap animation resources, powerful iClone animation editing, export compatibility to major platforms, polygon reduction, bone reduction, remesh, material merge, facial animation, lip sync animation, and more.

EASILY SETTING FOR ANY TYPE OF CHARACTER

Rig Selected Mesh & Auto-attach Hard Surface Items

CC AccuRIG allows users to define selected items like body and cloth as the target for auto skin weight, and separate hard surface items like a helmet or armor. Then auto attach to the neighboring bone as accessories to prevent animation distortion. See Tutorial >

Masking Unused Bones

For portrait, or character models not in a perfect T or A pose, you can choose to mask out unwanted bones and let the animation play through the assigned bones for partial body movement.

FLEXIBLE ADJUSTMENTS

Point Refinement

Through manual joint definition, rigging can be customized to match models with different characteristics. The skin-weight is highly optimized for all joints, from shoulder, elbow, and knee, to detailed finger joints. The volume for head, body and accessories will all be well-preserved thanks to AccuRIG technology.

Raise / Drop Shoulders

The placement of joints can often alter the shoulder shape of the model. Adjust the relative positions of shoulder and clavicle joints to achieve different shoulder positions.

Retain Shoulder Shape

To accentuate the structured shoulder line for a suit, the shoulder and clavicle joints should be placed along / close to the shoulder line.

With Accessories

Solve stretched faces and accessories due to skin weight calculation. Adjust neck joints to avoid accessories and re-calculate skin weight for optimal results.

Protruding Head

To avoid face distortion for creatures with a protruding head, or with the face lower than the neck, the neck joints should be parallel to the jaw line

Accurate

Adjust finger joints to achieve natural finger movements. Place the base joint of the thumb at the cross point of the index finger and thumb to avoid split purlicue. Rotate the thumb gizmo to adjust the thumb movement axis.

Diverse

Support different numbers of fingers for character artists to design models and create rigs without limitations.

Pose Offset

Pose Offset helps correct posture problems such as arm penetration or leg distance when applying animation data to characters with different body scales. It can also generate stylized performances for cartoonish figures.

Arm Position Correction

Arm penetration might happen on characters with thick limbs or torso. Adjust shoulder or arm angles to avoid penetration when applying animations.

Posture Correction

For tilted and unnatural movements caused by irregular model poses; adjust angles and rotation for neck, shoulders, spine, waist, arms, hands, legs, and feet.

From Generic Pose to Dramatized Performances

Adjust joint offsets to create a more dramatic performance on any stylized model.

ACCURATE RIGGING WITH FLEXIBLE REFINEMENT

Skin Weight

Manually correct skin-weight made by auto rigging, improve skin binding result.

Proportion

Change body proportions once the character is rigged.

Physics

Assign physics attributes to floating elements, and give natural simulated effects.
