Software Specification

  1. What is "iWidget Video"?
iWidget video is a video format from Reallusion products (iClone 3.1 and CrazyTalk6.1). You can export a video clip with a transparent background from Reallusion products and then import it to your widget. If you do not have iClone 3.1, please download it here.
  2. Which media formats does WidgetCast support?
    * Audio: .mp3 (You can find some applications from the internet to convert your audio files into the mp3 format, such as Free Mp3 Wma Converter
    * Video: .flv (You can find some applications from the internet to convert your video files into the flv format, such as AFree Converter, .iwidget (Reallusion widget video)
    * Image: .gif (animated .gif is not supported), .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .bmp
    * Flash: .swf
  3. Does the Feedback Form supports double-byte language?
If you want the support on double-byte language (Chinese, Japanese…). Then, you cannot use Transparent & Drag Mode, but you can still use this function in AIR Output mode. This is also an Adobe Flash limitation.

Software Usage

  1. Where can I find the Library data in the existing folder? Can I manage it (Add, Del folder/file or rename) by myself?
Yes, you can manage the folder in the following directory:
    C:\Program Files\Reallusion\WidgetCast\Template\Gallery\
You may also use the drag and drop function to add files to WidgetCast. File format includes: *.jpg;*.jpeg;*.png;*.gif;*.bmp;*.flv;*.mp3;*.swf;*.iwidget;*.wgs (WidgetCast Flash Component)
  2. When I import a flash (*swf) file into WidgetCast its proportion does not align well when I resize the flash. Why?
.swf files may have animations that WidgetCast cannot control. To make sure your flash file can play correctly in WidgetCast, please follow the steps:
    1. In Flash, place an invisible rectangle to let Flash recognize the project boundary.
    2. Try not to use effects such as fade in/out or mouse detection outside of the boundary.
  3. When I import a SWF file into a browser (IE and Firefox) the size looks normal, but when I import it into WidgetCast it became very small. What happened?
Because the swf file has not set a constrained width and height from the original swf file.
  4. Why can't I add anymore swf or flash component when I open a project I made before?
WidgetCast fails when you open a project that contains duplicate swf files with the same file name. You may use copy and paste function in WidgetCast to solve this issue.
  5. Why isn't the "Play" button working in popVideo Composer?
This button is only for reviewing delay time purpose only not for playing media source. If you want to set delay time for each page or globally as the default for every page, you will need to check Auto Page in Project Setting, or set the Delay Time in each page setting.

    Project Setting

    Page setting
  6. Why is the .swf file playback speed different from being played in Flash?
You can change the "frame rate" setting either in Flash or WidgetCast to keep the playback speed normal. For example, if your .swf is using "30" frame rate, you can change the default widget frame rate from "12" to "30".
  7. Why does WidgetCast freezes and the layout are distorted when I import .swf to WidgetCast?
WidgetCast is a Flash application; it cannot load swf which contains stage function. If your .swf file contains the “stage” function, you may change the “Stage” string to "This.Root" string to solve this problem.
  8. Why does the gif animation freezes when playing in WidgetCast?
Because of the Adobe Flash’s limitation. Action Script 3 only shows the first frame of the gif animation file. We highly suggest that you use .swf format instead of .gif animation format.

Please change the Internet Explore setting to "direct connect" and try again.
  2. Can I publish a widget to more than one social network?
Sure. You have two methods to publish one widget to more than one site:
You can use the following method to publish one widget to more than one site:
