Exporting FBX to 3D Tools (New for 5.5)
FBX Plug-in Version

You do not need to adjust any further settings, because 3DXchange exports FBX files in FBX 2012 Version by default.

However, when you load the data from 3DXchange, you must utilize the FBX 2012 Version
or above to
prevent data loss issues.
Viewing FBX Version of 3D Tools

Maya
-
Create a new scene in Maya.

Select the File >> Import >> □
command.

Make sure the File type in the General Options
section is set to FBX and click the
Import
button.

Select an FBX file and check out the FBX Plug-in Version at the bottom of the Option group.

If you find the version is too old, then please
upgrade your Maya
to include the latest FBX version.

3ds Max
-
Create a new scene in 3ds Max.

Go to >> Import >> Import.

Select an FBX file, set the Files of type to
Autodesk (*.FBX) and click the Open button.

You will view the FBX Plug-in version in two places in the coming dialog box.

If you find the version is too old, then please
upgrade your 3ds Max
to include the latest FBX version.
