Actor Transformation Pivot

The actor transformation pivot is the base for an actor to move, rotate, or scale. A character with the pivot correctly located ensures correct rotate or scale results (the movement result will be less obvious even if the pivot is offset).

The pivot of a standard character in CrazyTalk Animator is always, by default, at the center of the pelvis and is displayed as a gray circle when you select the character.

If you encounter an eccentric pivot issue, then you need to follow the steps below to resolve the problem.

Pivot Position VS. Rotate and Scale

A different pivot position of a character can result in different rotate or scale situations.

Offset pivot and Rotate

Offset pivot and Proportional Scale

Offset pivot and Non-Proportional Scale

Allocate the Character Pivot Position

The character's initial position must be set to the center in the composer to avoid the situations above.

  1. Select a character in the stage mode. Switch to the Character Composer Mode.
  2. Select the Pelvis part of the character.
  3. Click the Transform button on the top tool bar to open the Transform panel.
  4. Set the (X, Y) values to (0, 0). Return to the stage mode and update the character.
  5. In the stage mode, the pivot is now aligned to the pelvis of the character.
