Merging Props

If you wish to combine several static props into one prop, then in stead of switching to the Prop Composer Mode to build a composite prop, you may also utilize the Merge feature in Stage Mode to directly assemble props. After merging props, you may manage them as one single prop with the following benefits:

Merging Props

  1. Apply or create different props.
  2. Adjust their transform data. The props are still independent objects in the Scene Manager.
  3. Select all the desired props to produce a composite prop with.
To select the desired props, you may:
  4. Click the Merge/Unmerge button on the tool bar to merge the props. Alternatively, you may Right-Click in the working area and select the Merge command of the Right-Click menu.
  5. The separate props will be merged into a new composite prop.
  6. The props will all be with the same Z-depth. Therefore, if you switch to the 3D viewer then the merged prop will be a flat one.

Note:

  • Please do not merge props of different Z depths since once the selected props are merged, the layer order of them will be flatten into the same Z depth, which causes the other objects in-between the components of the merged prop, to only be displayed in front of, or behind the merged prop.
  • Props with different Z depths

    Characters in-between the merged prop

  • If you want to set a scene with different props and different Z depths, then please convert them into the scene of the project in stead of merging them together.
