Issue 711
Allow the plugin to send a scene to a separate Indigo Render Box
I own the Indigo Render plugin, which is great for still images. However, I haven't used it for animation because it really ties up my machine to make and scene resources eat up hard drive spaces as it stands right now. It occurs to me that adding a small change to the plugin might allow for a more efficient workflow.

You can do this by installing Indigo RT and Iclone 6 pro on a second machine strictly for rendering. This solves the problem of allowing me to continue working while that other machine handles the render, but manually passing scene files back in forth is tedious and if you're working on more than one scene, you have to wait for it to finish processing, then go back and start the next job.

It occurs to me that you could automate that process by adding a pass thru mode to the Indigo Plugin, in which when you are ready to render, you could click a button and send the scene file to your render box and set it to begin the render and report back to your workstation when it's complete. In addition give the plugin the ability to queue renders and start the next one automatically. This means you can keep working on your machine while another machine does all the render jobs. When the render job is done, you can click on the link to view the finished render. My suggestion does not require network rendering from RT, but merely creates an Iclone created Queue that tells Indigo when to render and in what order.

I installed indigo on a separate machine and do the rendering from there. The Indigo plug does write a script that will automate the render process but it will not send the finished image back. Image sequences can be rendered. Do not get your hopes up about ray tracing your next movie, short or any animation beyond a few frames the IClone to Indigo script will use all the ram until it crashes IClone leaving an unfinished render script for Indigo leaving the task of manually creating a render cue which involves a number of steps that suck all the wind out of artistic sails. For animation, the work around is staggering but if a background plate or two are needed this is really not so bad you end up with a good looking scene. Lighting and shadows on live actors need to be emulated when filming capturing or carding the scene. Hope this helps, good luck.
